Thanks so much for inviting me to visit Murder She Writes. I must admit I’m having a major fangirl moment just scanning the blog and the wonderful authors who reside here (fanning myself profusely, and NOT from the summer heat).
I wasn’t quite sure what to say on the blog today, so I just took a look around at the paper tigers roaming my office, having scores of kittens. In other words…stacks and stacks and stacks of paper. I’m in a deluge. Why? Well, I’ve been busy lately. But then again, aren’t we all? Busy, I mean. For me it’s the day job. And Family. And Friends. And Exercise. And Faith. Oh, and writing.
And I’ve been saying five words much too often, lately. “I don’t have the time.”
The truth is, I have all the time there is. We all do. Twenty-four hours a day. Seven days a week. I could write this blog about prioritizing, time management and getting more done, but the truth is, what about taking time NOT to continue the grind? What about grabbing onto dreams? Big and small! What about stopping and smelling those roses on occasion.
That brings me to a bucket list. Until recently, my bucket list has mostly been in my head—for when I have the time. But I want to write it down. I want to do something about living those dreams, taking those trips, spending those days in ways I never do. I don’t want to wait until I have the time. We never know what life will bring. I don’t want to regret. I don’t want to wish any longer. I want to DO! I want to hold on with both hands and fly. Maybe not all the time, but sometimes.
So, without further ado, here’s the top five of my bucket list:
- Be a published author (okay…did it! And am still doing it. YAY!)
- Take a ride in a hot air balloon. (In other words, go where the wind carries me!)
- Spend the entire day with my niece/goddaughter at Disney World—just the two of us. Have lunch with the princesses, get our hair done, the works!
- Visit a Mayan temple
- Visit my family’s ancestral home near Fabriano, Italy
I’ve actually done one of the five. But can I take the time to do the others?
I think I can…I think I can…I KNOW I can. I have all the time there is. I can make it happen. I HAVE to make it happen, or time could just slip away.
What about you, dear readers? What’s on your bucket list? Can you make it happen? I pray you can! All you have to do is dream it, believe it, then do it!
I really would love it if you would share one (or more) items from YOUR bucket list. Or just comment below THROUGH SUNDAY 6/16 for a chance to win one of my books. I’m giving away one copy of BEHIND THE LIES, my latest Montgomery Justice Novel, and a copy of UNDERCOVER TEXAS, my latest Carder Texas Connections novel (and an RT Top Pick).
And thanks SO much for having me. I really do love to hear from readers.
