Most didn’t last for one reason or another. But a few have stuck with me.
I’ve always written though not as seriously as I do now. I still love to bake. I hate to
think how many years I’ve been drinking diet soda, my latest, Coke Zero, thank you Amanda Stevens for introducing us. Though it would be Mexican Coke if I could buy it in town.
My most recent addiction is quilting. It started with one little ‘ol quilt class just for fun. Now I can’t drive by a quilt store. Fabric calls to me. I love the smell, the feel, the colors. The only other place that calls me like that is a bookstore. I can wander through both just looking, running my fingers over the merchandise, wanting to take all of it home.
Last week I went on a “shop hop,” visiting a variety of quilt stores and finding amazing fabric that gave me tons of ideas as to what to do with it. Like story ideas, fabric gets the creative juice flowing. My quilting friends say you can’t have too much fabric. I’m not so sure about that. Like book ideas, I’m not sure I will live long enough to complete all the projects I have in mind.
So what are your addictions?
