I know it’s Friday and it seems strange to see me here instead of the lovely and talented Laura…but Laura and I played blog post swap-er-oo in the last week because I was traveling and one never knows what the internet service will be like. (Here’s where I mention my hatred of airports and flight delays.)
So a mini-catch up on what’s new with me. The 9th book in the Rough Riders series, RAISING KANE, released in ebook form from Samhain Publishing on June 29th, which was exciting for me because it’s been ages between releases. Lorelei also turned in SADDLED AND SPURRED on June 21st — and we took off at o’dark thirty on the 22nd for our family vacation in Mobile, AL and returned home July 1st. We had an awesome time and we really look forward to getting to know the area even better when we’re down south visiting Armstrong #2 at college this fall. I turned in my copy edits for MERCY KILL yesterday…so I’m feeling, oh, a little cocky that I’m finally caught up in 2010.
Whoa, whoa, wait a second…Caught up? (Lori’s inner smartass speaking) Dude. It’s July! The year is more than half over! Let me pause to wipe the tears of mirth from my face. I might not ever catch up, but I am taking a minute to slow down. Read. Get my little duckies in a row as far as upcoming writing projects, promotion and travel schedule.
During this planning stage, where I’m lying on the bed (it looks like I’m napping but I swear I’m working!) I realized…we are a month out from CORRALLED, the first release in the brand spankin’ new Blacktop Cowboys series, which will release on August 3rd from NAL in trade paperback and in ebook form.
I can’t wait until this book hits the shelves. So I’m giving away an ARC of CORRALLED to some lucky, random commenter!
What do you have to do to qualify? Just leave a comment and tell me the book you’re most looking forward to reading this summer 🙂
I’ll even go first… I’ve read and loved the young adult novel THE HUNGER GAMES by Suzanne Collins, and I’ve been waiting to read CATCHING FIRE until right before the third book in the trilogy, MOCKINGJAY, releases the end of August because my daughter has hinted there’s a huge cliffhanger in book 2 (No spoilers please!) and I’m one of those super impatient readers who wants instant gratification, I want it all wrapped up in a pretty bow NOW…so I decided to wait to read the last two books back to back.
Come on down and share your upcoming or just finished “must” reads!!
