One of my favorite fall traditions is heading to the theater to see the year’s most highly anticipated movies.
I’m really excited about this year’s lineup. Top of my list is the second Hunger Games movie, Catching Fire, starring Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth. I loved the first film in the series, and I’ll be interested to see how the second film turns out with a different person in the director’s chair.
In case you haven’t seen Liam’s brother Chris Hemsworth on the big screen, be sure to catch Rush, directed by Ron Howard. This movie takes you into the high-speed world of Formula One racing, depicting the rivalry between two of the 1970s top racers. I didn’t know the first thing about F1 when I sat down to watch this show and was pulled right into the story.
Another promising film is American Hustle, featuring some of my favorite actors: Bradley Cooper, Jeremy Renner, Jennifer Lawrence, Christian Bale, and Amy Adams. From the director of The Fighter and Silver Linings Playbook, the story is about a 70s-era con man who gets tangled up with the FBI.
In case you didn’t get enough of Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper elsewhere, you can catch them together in Serena, a drama set in Depression-era North Carolina.
Which fall flicks are you looking forward to seeing?
