
As I stated two weeks ago, I was on vacation. No kids, no pets, no responsibilities. My biggest concern was finding a place to eat dinner and figuring out what to read next. I think I read six books. That seems like a low number for ten days of doing nothing, so I might be forgetting one. Two did not thrill me, so I’ll not mention them here, but the other four came through as hoped.
These are books four and five in Kevin Hearne’s Iron Druid Chronicles. I love this series. A book blogger recommended them to me and they’re outside of what I regularly read, but a great story is a pleasure no matter the genre.
“Atticus O’Sullivan, last of the Druids, lives peacefully in Arizona, running an occult bookshop and shape-shifting in his spare time to hunt with his Irish wolfhound. His neighbors and customers think that this handsome, tattooed Irish dude is about twenty-one years old—when in actuality, he’s twenty-one centuries old.” Atticus can hear the Irish wolfhound’s voice inside his head. Their conversations are hilarious.
