One of the great pleasures of summer is reading by the water…the beach, the pool, the lake, the sprinkler. During the summer months I like to drop a book into my bag everywhere I go in case I get a few quiet moments to myself.
This summer I plan to read some new fiction, as well as catch up on some books that have been sitting in my teetering To Be Read stack for ages, it seems. Here are some of the titles going into my beach tote:
INFERNO by Dan Brown-Robert Langdon enters a mysterious world centered on Dante’s ‘Inferno’ while trying to retrace his past.
JOYLAND by Stephen King-A paranormal murder mystery that takes place in a small-town North Carolina amusement park in 1973.
WILD by Cheryl Strayed-The author recounts her life-changing journey hiking the Pacific Crest Trail.
NEVER GO BACK by Lee Child-Jack Reacher goes to Washington to meet a woman, Major Susan Turner, and ends up entangled in an investigation.
UNBROKEN by Laura Hillenbrand-from the author of SEABISCUIT, “A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption”.
And of course, I must call out the new releases from my friends at Murder She Writes, including:
STOLEN by Allison Brennan, THE CANDIDATE by Josie Brown, LUCKY BASTARD by Deborah Coonts, TWO GUYS DETECTIVE AGENCY by Stephanie Bond, INTIMATE SECRETS by B.J. Daniels, BLOOD VOW by Karin Tabke, and BURIED by Kendra Elliot.
What books are you planning to toss into the beach bag this summer? Please share! I’m looking for ideas.
