To win it before you can buy it?
Yes, I’m talking about a personally signed copy of CHASIN’ EIGHT! I got my author copies before RT and I”m just now thinking…hmm…maybe I should give away a copy! Ooh, and the cover is so so purty, especially since the publisher added “New York Times Bestselling author” because this was my first book to hit the NY Times!
Also interesting tidbit about the cover models…they are a couple in real life. I was told their names, but they will always be Chase and Ava to me.
I’m am way way way deep in the throes of multiple deadlines, so I’ve pretty much checked out of online society until I catch up, catch my breath, or catch hell…most likely the later. I won’t be able to comment back today
but I’m sure you’d all rather have me writing so I don’t miss another deadline.
Today’s question: do you buy a book you really want in ebook and in paper? Leave a comment for a chance to win this:
She wants it. He’s got it. And the chase is on.
Bull rider Chase McKay has finally landed in a pile too big to charm his way out of. Caught with his pants down, he finds himself bucked right off the PBR tour until he can get his act together.
Hollywood actress Ava Cooper became the tabloids’ favorite target when her longtime boyfriend was outed as gay. She needs a place to lay low and a chance to prove to herself that she can satisfy a red-blooded man between the sheets. The sexy, rugged cowboy she finds holed up in her Wyoming hideaway seems like the answer to her every fantasy.
But Chase has sworn off women. Forever. Or at least a month. Whichever comes first.
When they take to the road to get Chase more hands-on bull riding experience, they have every intention of keeping their hands off each other. But the two headstrong stars quickly end up riding a hot and heady rodeo circuit all their own—until the press gets wind of their affair. When the dust clears and the lights of the paparazzi fade, are they ready to give up chasing the dream for a chance of finding forever?
Warning: Strap in, another hot McKay is about to bust out of the gate and this bull rider knows a thing or two about riding hard…

I haven’t yet. I’m relatively new to the ebook thing but have still bought a couple of paper ones since getting my Nook.
I’m switching completely to ebooks because of space issues. I’ve read some blogs where they ask that we still buy some paper to keep brick and mortar bookstores in business. The only time I would have a book in both e and paper format is if the paper was in imminent danger of falling apart and one of my favorite reads.
Of course, if I won a book in paper format, I’d find room for it
….And if I found a great sale and there was a book I really, really wanted for a buck or two….
I have a select few authors that I buy in both ebook and print. You are at the top of the list. Mostly I just buy ebooks so hubby doesn’t see how many books I actually have (print books are already taking over our house, garage and attic).
I LOVED this book. Another great one by the amazing Lorelei James
)
Guilty… I have several books in hardcover, paperback & ebook. I do have some must buys that are all ebook because that’s how I found out about them. If I have a series sitting on my shelf, I’ll pre-order the book and the morning the ebook comes out, I’ll order it so I have it to read while I wait for my hard copy. The hard copy also helps me get others hooked on books.
I only buy both ebooks and print books from a select few authors. You are at the top of that short list. I mainly buy ebooks so hubby doesn’t know how many books I actually have since the print books were already taking over the house, garage, and attic before I got a Kindle a few of years ago.
Let’s see I have eight in paper and the rest in ebooks. Out of all of yours books I only have one that is ebook and paper and that is Long Hard Ride. Thats because I borrowed the paper one out and never got it back. Guess she loved the book so much she decided to keep it LOL.
It usually depends on the price but I’m running out of book shelves. To save space, I’ll have to say ebook, but if I really like a book, I’ll usually get both.
Let’s try this again, I have 8 books in paper and the rest in ebook. Only one is in both and that is Long Hard Ride. Borrowed the paper out to a friend who decided to keep it. LOL Guess she loved the book.
I buy all of my favorite authors in print, but sometimes I am known to buy the ebook too just so I don’t mess up my print copy. I’m a nerd like that. I just love to have my bookshelf filled with all the pretty covers. This was my favorite RR book and cover!
I don’t think I’ve bought a single paper book since I got my Kindle two and half years ago. I have won a couple and received a couple as gifts. My kids give me Amazon gift cards for birthday, Christmas, Mothers’ Day so I can keep buying more e-books. I love being able to take my books with me wherever I go. I never know when I’ll have a spare few minutes to read! I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I’ll be able to read more adventures of Julie Collins and Company one of these days
well this is my 3rd attempt to leaving a mess. I have both paper and ebooks in this series.
Both! I buy eBooks to read them because it easier… and also buy paper. Paper makes me feel like its a forever book!
I usually by the eBook first. If I fall in love with the story, then I usually by the book as well. I am also running out of room; however, there is nothing better than the feel of a real book!
I buy ebooks for my Sony eReader. Although I do have hard copies of my favorite authors for the library ;-P
I’m a bookaholic!
Not all books are in ebook format. Look how long it took JK Rowling to convert. There are books that I have which I later got ebooks because I really enjoyed returning to the story but didn’t want to carry it around. My Nook is always with me so I can enjoy my library anytime.
First off, I have to say that this is one of my all time favorite covers for this series although the new Kissin’ Tell cover it right up there with it. As for buying both, my answer is since I got my Kindle I rarely purchase print books anymore. I have a few (signed author copies) but because of space I just don’t buy hard copies anymore. In fact, I’ve donated my book collection from many years to my local library. I’m a “e-girl” all the way!!
I love ebooks so I can take ALL my books with me where ever I go
It depends on a few things: the author, the cover, and if I can find it on release day in a local store. If not, I will usually have an internal debate, especially if the cover is a good one, and will either purchase online or give up on order the ebook version. Sometimes, I will just order the ebook version, and eventually get the book in print.
I’m buying mostly ebooks for my Sony eReader. But my favorite authors I have to have hard copies for the library too.
I’m a bookaholic!
I do both. If I already have books in a series, I continue to buy em for my shelf. If it’s a new series, I buy em for my kindle. If I really really love the ebook then I buy em for my shelf. Either way I spend $$$ but I love it!
P.S. PICK ME!
I would say that most of the books I buy are ebooks but if I really like a book I will buy both. I have limited space for books so the ebooks are great for me.
I mostly buy ebooks but will buy both if I really like a book.
Let me start by saying that I got my copy of of CHASIN’ EIGHT in the mail today so don’t put my name for the contest.
I have a few authors that I buy their books both in e book and print version- one of them is you!
I have all of your ROUGH RIDERS books both as e books and in print and the same with your WILD WEST BOYS series- as much as I enjoyed reading on my Kindle I just love looking at all the books organized by order on my bookcase.
If it is a book that I really like and re-read often (and if I love the cover art), then I will buy the hard copy too.
I buy both paperbacks and Ebooks. But i must admit that i really love my kindle. And i love the free ebooks that i get from Amazon. And , once in awhile the free books lead me to another great author.
I buy the eBook 1st (if it’s a series that i LOVE like the RR series) because i can’t wait for it to come out in paper back. I can hardly wait for it to come out on eBook. Once any of the RR series comes out in paper back I buy it for my library. I will only loan the eBook because i’d hurt someone if they lost one of my books or returned it in not so good condition. I can hardly wait for “Kissen’ Tell” to come out in June. So please Lorelie, get your little fingers to typin:)
There are only a few authors whose books I want in print form. If the ebook and print book come out at the same time for these special authors, I buy the print book. If the ebook comes out first, I buy both since I can’t stand the wait. I ALWAYS get the RR ebook as soon as it comes out, then the print book as soon as it comes out. I just can’t wait for my McKay fix!!
There are a select few I buy both and you are on that VERY short list Mz. L. I like to have the books on my shelves, but I like to read them on my Kindle.
Chasing Eight is one of my top favorite RR books, maybe because it’s the funniest book I’ve ever read. I LOVED it.
I am partial to paper books, I have books in almost every room of my house! I do have a nook and I love having books I can take anywhere with me, however, I prefer the look and smell of paper. I tend to get it on e-book format first, if its something I will probably read more than once then I will buy a hard copy, and vice versa.
My hubby has long since learned that books for me are like antiques or knick-knacks… you can always find room for more! And I NEVER throw away books, if it comes down to it and I have to get rid of one, its either recycled (because it is falling apart) or I donate it, or give to a friend in need of a good mental escape.
For a few special authors, I buy the print book if it comes out at the same time as the ebook. If the ebook comes out first, I will buy both. For the RR series, I always get both since I can’t stand the wait for the print book and I couldn’t stand not to have the print book even once I have the ebook!! I need my McKay fix!
I’ve been buying more ebooks lately. If it is a book I adore or if it has a gorgeous cover then I will usually buy it in print and in ebook. There are some books that I have in ebook, paperback and hardback. I’m running out of room so I won’t be able to do that very often.
I absolutly love my Kindle. I think it may have been the best thing my Darling Husband has bought me. I dont go anywhere without it but…. There’s always a but. I do love books all kinds of books I love the smell the feel just holding them in your hand there’s nothing quite like it. So to answer your question. Yes I would buy in both formats if I love the books enough. One to look at the purty picture’s and one to read. Who could resist Chase’s fine Pec’s not me thats for sure lol Especially as he’s my second Fav McKay. I think I might have a thing for Bullriders and its all your fault. So now I mostly buy only E-books with the odd exceptions namely you and one or two other authors. Have a great day and you stick to that writing as I for one can’t wait to read it.
Certain authors I purchase in both E-Book and print…. These are usually boks that I know will be signed. Hobby of mine to meet authors, love having signed copies. Sometimes I’ll have a couple sets, one to lend one to sign!
No, considering the sheer numbers of books I buy every month…I’d be broke.
But on a rare occasion, I’ll buy a paper book to complete/fill-in an older series and an ecopy to read on my Kindle. I’ve done that with Jim Butcher’s Dresden Files, JR Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood, and Robin Rotham’s Big Temptation. I LOVE autographed copies of my favorite books.
So, generally speaking, I have little room for more books and buy the vast majority of my stories as ebooks. Besides, how cool is it that I can carry my entire library with me wherever I go?
Yes, I do buy both, but not often. The story has to really touch me, i.e. Wrangled an Tangled. While I enjoy the convenience of the ebook, I love to actually hold the print version. Guess it goes back to my being a child and loving books.
There are certain authors that I prefer to have all of the books in Paper form. I love having them on my bookshelf so i can go back to a certain page and read whenevr the mood strikes. Otehr stories I get on my Nook and see the great convenience of it, but Im an old fashioned girl at heart and love my paperbacks.
Since E books are still a new concept I find that I am just as likely to buy the book form as I am an E book. Although I love that the E books come out first. It is still a habit to have my beloved paperbacks on hand.
I mostly buy print books, but I do buy some ebooks. I like print books better though. I read a lot, bc I need at least 15 mins to de-stress. I have a 2yr old with autism, he is very aggressive and always trying to take thing apart. Lol. He knows that he is not supposed to touch “mommy’s books” (as he calls them). But he plays on our computer and my phone (puzzle app). So print book are, to me, so much easier. I am sad to say though, I don’t have any of your books in print. YET!! I will be though.
I am looking forward to your next book.
I can’t wait for this one! I do love me some McKays! Just sayin’.
I do buy certain authors in both e and paper. I prefer to read on my Kindle but when I have a signed copy or in the case of the In Death books, I have them in hardback (well…most of them. My dream is to have them all in HB someday!) There are other authors I automatically buy both versions, too, so I can share with friends to get them hooked on the authors and series I love and also have them on my keeper shelves.
Hang in there, busy lady!
I buy whichever one I can get my hands on! Which is usually e-book, so I often follow up with the purchase of paperback if I love the author.
I love my Kindle, but sometimes I just want an actual book in my hands.
I’ve been buying more ebooks since I bought a Nook last year. I do still buy a few print copies of my favorite Authors to have on my bookshelf, hard to resist the hot covers
Plus, I’m loving all the eBook only titles that are out there now.
I do buy both ebook & print copies of some books. Yours always!
For me, it depends on the series, the author, and my mood! I’m loving the Rough Riders series and the covers are great. So, even though I have the ebooks, my goal is to collect the paperback versions that I’m missing. They just make my bookshelf look better! :0)
Pick me! Pick me! Please..LOL. I have every other book by you signed so this would be the perfect addition to my collection. Plus I could just sit an stare at this beautiful cover for days *sigh*
I do buy both ebook & print by my fave authors. Yours, always!
There is only one series that I do this with and that is the Rough Riders cause I have to read the book right away and then I buy the print version for my collection. This way, none of my print books are ever opened. They are kept in brand new condition. Well unless you open them to sign them
This is the only one that I don’t have signed so it would be the perfect addition to my collections.
Cost is an issue, as I buy hundreds of books each year. I prefer paper unless it’s a Kindle freebie. I try to get my hands on used books before I’ll consider spending the money for another version. I use paperbackswap.com and Half Price Books and the friends of the Library book sale and rummage sales. I always carry with me a paper list of books released within the last year or by my favorite authors which I’ve not yet acquired. I also enter as many giveaways as I can find.
Your Rough Riders series is the only series that I will buy the ebook when it is released and then buy the print book when that is released. I can’t wait to read the book but I also need the print version for my collection. That way my print copies never get opened and are kept in perfect condition
I have every other book by you signed so this would be the perfect addition to my collection.
Sometimes both! I prefer print, but depending on the author, I can’t always wait
So I may get the e-book first, and then the print later.
Due to the fact that I don’t have a husband at the moment, and I have to support my book habbit. I have switched to mostly ebooks. I have bought some ebooks of some I have in print. I’m a big rereader, so I like having my faves in my hands at all times. I do want to get the RR in print. That might be a Christmas present to myself soon.
Hmm… I thought I commented, but maybe I need more coffee this morning! I tend to prefer print, but sometimes will cave and get the e-book first, and then the print when it’s released later
I have most of the RRs in print, and just need the last couple recent releases to complete the set
I adore Chase!!! And I am a huge Lorelie James fan! And I would love to win the book and not just for me. I have been looking for ways to help my favorite rescue and as much as I would love to add the book to my collection I would have to add it to the Book Basket I am trying to get together to raise money for the horses.
Yes I have, but only for your RR series. I do however have paperback & audio or hardback & audio from a couple of other authors.
Chasin’ Eight is in the top three favourites of your RR Series. Looking forward to Kissn’ Tell in June.
Since E books are still a new concept to me I find myself still reaching for my beloved paperbacks. I do love that I can get my favorites on my kindle sooner in shook form. My favorite authors I will have both forms.
Lately, I buy ebooks more than paper. It is just so convenient. I can be anywhere and download a book in a snap. I have hundreds of books on my nook and take it everywhere I go. But, I also have a substantial collection of paper books that have taken over my half of the bedroom. They are everywhere. I have a favorite local book store that has a ‘warehouse’ sale once a month and I often leave with 20 or more books.
I have yet to see a Lorelei James print book in person but hope that changes. I do have ALL of Lori Armstrong’s books in print as well as ebook. I often share books with my mom. Now that she is retired she reads all the time, 4 or 5 books a week. She has read the Julie Collins series but I think the Rough Riders would be too much for her. She is a natural prude and not only would she die of embarrassment, but I would get a lecture. So if I win a signed copy, I’ll leave it out of the pile she can borrow.
Thanks for the giveaway! Would LOVE to have a signed Rough Riders book, especially Chase and Ava’s story. I’ve read it three times and it still makes me cry.
There are some books that I have in both ebook format and print. Some authors, and series, I just have to have in print. I have all of Lorelei’s books in print, and a couple of them in ebook format.
I buy all your books in ebook and paperback. Your the only author I do this with. If I have a series in paperback, I’ll continue to read it in paperback, same goes with ebook series. But YOU, your special and in order to keep sanity, I have the ebooks when they come out and paperbacks “Just because”!
Hope you have a good day and can keep up on your deadlines. I’d LOVE a signed copy of Chasin Eight.
I don’t buy many paper books any more. But I have bought ebooks of some of the paper books I already own. Just books/authors I loved. So when I re-read the books, I read the ebook. And I DO re-read books that I love .. over and over again.
Yes to your question. I just recently started getting ebooks since I downloaded for free Kindle on my PC. But back to the models of your book covers. You mean to tell me that that hot-assed couple on ALL JACKED UP are a real couple? let me be vry clear on this. I f***king love that story and I Always imagine that they are THE COUPLE in the story. They are so hot looking!!!!! Thank you for that and just WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW !!!!!!
The Rough Riders books are on my autobuy list. I love these books. Keep them em a comin!!!
Because of your hot, hot, McKay boys, I have finally succombed to purchasing the ebook and then the paperback copy. I have never bought two of the same thing before but I have to keep the ebooks on my kindle but love the covers so much need to have the paperback also. Would love to have Chasin Eight in paperback!
I prefer paperbacks though I do appreciate my nook!
Since my bookshelves are over flowing.I now buy ebooks. But if its a series and I have the others in paperback I will buy the paperback to have the set all together.
I rarely buy paperbacks any longer since I bought the Kindle. I do have my keeper shelf with a handful of books(signed books, etc) but I just do not have the room for paperback.
I mainly buy e-books since I am starting to run out of room for paper books but there are some authors (Your books for example) where I buy both formats. A friend once told me I had too many books – I disagree! You can NEVER have too many books no matter what the format is!
Thank you!
Laura
I don’t normally buy tangible copies of things if I’ve purchased the ‘e’ version. Books, music, movies….it’s more of a space thing.
HOT, HOT, HOT!
I will buy a book in both print and ebook format if I love the book. Needless to say I have both for the whole Rough Riders series. The McKays are so stinking hot! Thanks for sharing the great blurb and for the awesome contest!
Yes if i get a book in ebook form first i usually get paper later if it’s a author i love or a book i love.
Lisa B
My dear Ms. Lori G,
You can add me to your legion of fans who lovelovelove your smokin’ hot cowpoke dudes! Chase and Eva are EVERYTHING you promised.
Way to deliver, girlee!
xxx J
Since I purchased my Kindle last year, Most of the books I buy are in E format. The exception being a series I already have been collectiing, for those I will buy the E version 1st (I have to read it right away) then purchase the paperback copy to go with the collection I already have. This is one of those series that I have both.
Love your rough riders series! You are the best out there!
Lovebyour rough riders series! You are the best!
First off nice cover and congrats on the New York Times bestselling author line. What an amazing experience that must be.
If I buy a book in ebook format and really like it, I do sometimes buy the regular print book so as to cherish it, lol. Stupid? Maybe but I LOVE, LOVE books!
Yes, I love to hold the books and reread certain passages. But the e-books are great to take to work or travel and they are very discreet. Although I think I give away what I’m reading because of the drooling and panting.
I love both books and e-books. The books are easier to re-read certain passages. The e-book versions are more discreet although I still have a problem panting and drooling.
Please let us know when it will be on Nook.
Thanks.
Brenda
Yes, unfortunately I do end of buying the paper edition as well as the ebook form. I thought once I got into the Kindle that it would lighten the book load, but all of your books mean so much to me that I have to them in print also.
If it’s one I really love or part of a favorite series ;D I usually get the hard copy but not both.
Since I got my Kindle I almost always buy in e-book. Since I live in a small town, most of the books I read are not at my local bookstore! I’ve been trying to reduce the number of print books I have but it’s hard since books are one of my favorite things! I have a special place for my print books signed by my favorite authors!
Loved the cover. The fact that they are a real couple probably is what makes it so hot! In answer to the question – it depends on the book. I’ve only had a Kindle since Christmas, so if I have started a series in paperback, will continue to buy that way. So have both. A lot of what’s on my Kindle are novellas that are only publish as e-books.
I do sometimes, but what I’m TRYING to do is buy paperback if I have a series already on my shelf, so I can end up with all of them. IF I’m just starting a series or it’s a stand alone I’ll most likely buy it on my kindle because my shelves are FULL– LOL
Buying more ebooks now, though still buy paperback on occasion.
I recently bought an e-reader so that I could read LJ’s books but if when paper is cheaper, I will probably still buy books. I love to read in the bathtub & won’t do it with my new nook!
I still prefer print so that is usually what I will buy although I know that digital books will eventually be what is mostly available.
A series I started in paperback I will still buy in paperback. But any new books I’m buying as e-books because of the “space issue”.
Love it. I have the ebooks, because they come out before the hard copies, but I have been buying Lorelei’s books when they come out as well. Never know when you just want to sit down with a book and L’s are always great
Love it. I buy have your ebooks, but I also like the hard copies as well. Don’t do that with many, but I love your hard copy books.
Shelly
I am reading the Rough Riders series. Just started Shoulda been a cowboy. Great series. Makes me miss Labor Day at the rodeo in Palestine!
You are the only author that I have both ebooks and print copies. The reason being is that I can’t wait for the printed copy to read the book.
Of course! I buy an e-book and then, on purpose, I also buy the print book. (I’ve also done that on accident with a few titles.) I buy both because sometimes I just have to have the book in print. And then I frequently buy more print copies to give as gifts.
I buy paper back books for series, like Lorelei James, Karen Moning, Lori Foster (Bound series). Kindle books for the rest of the books I read.
I buy books for series of authors like Moning, Foster or James. Kindles for rest I read.
Yes. I buy all books on my Kindle. However…if I began a series of books prior to buying my Kindle, I will continue to buy the books to complete the set. In the case of the Rough Riders Series, I love the actual books and how they look on my shelf but I need to have them with me at all times:)..so I have both..
I started COWGIRLS DON’T CRY
@ RT. I love it!
If it’s a book I really want paper is still my favorite and I wait for that format to release.
No doubt my answer will change when I buy an Ereader and end up buying both formats of my favorites
I have definitely bought both versions of many of my favorite books. I have actually just finished re-reading this whole series (for like the 3rd or 4th time) in anticipation of the release of KISS AND TELL!
Love your writing can’t wait to read more!
As a Librarian. I truly love BOOKS. There’s nothing like the feel of a book in your hands. being able to touch each page, The feel of the paper. Let not forget those dreamy covers. OK Confession time… In Library world. I’ve gone to the dark side. I’m coming out of the closet. I LOVE my kindle. I can almost say the words out loud. But, could we keep it on the down low. Librarians on a little on the crazy side.
I mostly buy e-books unless I can’t get a certain book on Kindle. Then I buy paperback or hardback, although I don’t usually keep them. I DO keep paper copies of books that I love or of books that I love and that have wonderful cover art (like your hot McKay cowboy covers! YES!)
Nope! I’m a paper reader and I only got my Nook because I can’t get so many book in print anymore or they are just too darn expensive to get in paper. I have to have my “book fix” and I have a VERY limited budget. With romance mostly written in series that puts me in a financial bind at times. If I want a keeper it’s in PAPER.
Whatever form I buy the 1st book of a series in, is what I buy the rest in. I like taking my e-book holder wherever I go, but I like the feel of a good book in my hand, too. I have LJ’s stories in e-book, so a real live signed copy…would be held in my arms every night as I fell fast asleep with Chase and Ava snuggled firmly up against me!! **pretty cool tidbit on the real life couple cover** ♥
Whatever I buy the 1st copy to a series in, is what I buy the rest in. E-book, paper…don’t matter…I love the story…and I love my authors!!
There are certain authors that are paper only authors. Some come out in ebook first and I get weak and buy them in ebook even though I NEED a copy in paper (that would be you, BTW). This year my book budget is tight so I will have to make some hard decisions because I can’t buy the same book twice. Honestly, I love the feel of paper but if the ebook is a major savings then I will go ebook for almost everything. I have even stopped buy most authors in hardcover and wait until the paperback is issued. Hardcovers are just too expensive.
I will buy both if they are ones I know I will really like. Mostly my favorite authors.
I love your books. I cannot wait to get the next ones. Hopefully soon.
I usually only buy paper unless I can’t find it…then I buy the ebook. But I should seriously rethink this cause I have no more room got books! Lol…or invest in another bookshelf.
andieleah78@gmail.com
Just what you needed, more stress from a broken blog..Hope you had a good day! Jeanine
If I have the series in paperback then I get it in paperback. If the series is in ebook then I get it in ebook. If it is a new series then it depends on what kind of series it is.
Yes some favorites I own in paper and e-book but also in audio book!!!
If I have the series in paperback then I get the paperback. If I have it in ebook then I get the ebook. However if it is a new series then it depends on what kind of book it is.
I have read this book already on my kindle. The books that I know are going to be good I will buy in paperback. Most books I read on my kindle. Most of your books are sitting on my bookshelf right now. Well the books that are out anyway. The others are on my kindle. I am good with reading from either. Keep up the good work with your writing. I have yet to read a book of yours that I did not like. Thanks!
If I really became invested in a book while reading it I will order the print copy of it after reading it on my nook. I’m a sucker for some authors too >.<
sionedkla@gmail.com
There are authors I purchase in print, digital and audio. If the book is part of a series, it will either be print or digital for the entire series.
Yes, I’ve been buying most of my favorite books for my e-reader, but when I find a local library sale I get all I can in paperback. My shelves are really starting to sag from my obsecion with books. I love that with my Nook I can carry so many of my favorites with me anywhere.
I buy e-books it’s easier to hide my addiction that way:) I do though buy books that I fall in love with and know I will read again and again!!
It depends on the author since some come out with e-books awhile before print I will buy those in e-books. But I do love a print copy as well.
I buy a book I really want in paper and the more pretty or hot the cover the more I want the physical cover. That way I can oh and ah over it. Sometimes the ebook is only available in ebook so I’ll get that of if there’s a significant price different. There are times when I buy an ebook version (usually because it’s cheaper) and I end up loving the story. In that case I also get a physical copy
I want. I want. I W.A.N.T.!!!
I buy paper copy noy into ebook yet, thanks for the giveaway, hot cover whoo
It depends on the author and the book. I prefer to read a print copy.
I have a ton of printed books and love them to death. But since finding an e-reader that I like, I’ve been buying them online. I still sometimes buy a book if I really like the cover and just to say I have it in my collection. No matter what way I get my books, I love reading them over and over again. Thank you for the great characters and story lines.

For your question: Do I buy a book I really want in ebook and in paper?
There isn’t just 1 Book I would buy in print….but I am guilty of buying EVERY Book published by select Authors that they publish in their Series. I’ll preorder the Print version & also eBook format, this way I will instantly have the eBook as soon as it is available, but still HAVE the hard copy. I know, I’m weird aren’t I?? LOL There’s just something about these Authors & their Series that I have to have their Print versions to hold in my hands. I know, I’m strange….but I LOVE to Read!!!
Here is the List off the top of my head…..
Well of course LOL Lorelei James’s Rough Rider Series is a MUST!!!!
Lara Adrian’s Midnight Breed Series
Elizabeth Amber’s The Lords of the Satyr Series
Keri Arthur’s Riley Jenson Guardian Series
Bianca D’Arc’s Brotherhood of Blood Series & Dragon Knight Series
Kate Douglas’s Wolf Tales Series
Jeaniene Frost’s Cat Crawford – The Night Huntress Series
Laurel K. Hamilton’s Anita Blake Vampire Hunter Series
Charlaine Harris’s Sookie Stackhouse – Southern Vampire Series

I have been buying mostly e-books recently (space issues), but there are a few authors that I have to have the hard cover, and you are most definitly high on the list! I’d give anything to have a signed copy from an author I truly admire.
Yes I will buy both if its a book I love and I want to have an untouched copy. I have several that I have gotten to meet the author and get them autographed, but I always read the ebook! no page wrinkles or broke bindings. LOL
Love all your books!!!
already preordered the new ones!

If its a book that I love I will buy both! I have several that I bought just to get the author to sign them in person. I won’t read those as I want them to stay crisp and no page wrinkles or broken bindings.
I only read the ebooks, it is my preference. I most only buy print books if I can get them signed.
I love all of your books, I have them on preorder! LOL

I buy both a print copy and a digital copy of books from my favorite authors (of which you are one). Otherwise it really depends. Some authors I only buy in print and others only in digital. There’s a method to my madness but nothing that could be explained in just a paragraph. LOL!
I still tend to just buy in paper. I will continue to do so for some time to come I imagine.
Thanks for writing & for sharing!
Today’s question: do you buy a book you really want in ebook and in paper?
If I can read an ebook, great…I find them easier/faster (because of adjusting the print size & contrast). But for keepers, I want print books!
I buy both the ebook and print copy of your books. Usually I get the ebook to get the book read right away, and then the print version to read a second time. I like to have the print copy also to have a complete set of your books on my bookshelf. I also like to have the print books available to drool over the covers.
Prefer paper books, like to feel the paper. Due to space have started to buy ebooks, nice thing about that is you can get all the books from a particular author (you of course) all at once.
Hmm..I haven’t really done that. Although now that I have an ereader, I’ve bought a few books on there and donate my paperback copies. I think the only one I have multiples of is Nora Roberts “Honest Illusions”. It’s my all time favourite book and I have it in the original paperback, the new trade paperback and on my ereader..which is probably a little excessive haha
I am so fickled when it comes to this topic. I love ebooks because it’s so much easier to lay in bed at night and not keep the hubby awake, but there’s something about holding a book and the smell of the pages that is comforting. I guess I would side with ebooks because I can have access to lots of books w/o the hubby judging or complaining.
I love the convenience of e-books. But there are some series/authors that I buy both print and e-book. Like the Blacktop Cowboys, Rough Riders, Black Dagger Brotherhood, Love at Stake, Destiny (Toni Blake), Play by Play (Jaci Burton) to name a few =)
Thanks for the great post!
I love holding a book in my hand but if the ebook comes first, I have to get my faves…ahem (Rough Riders)
Since I got my nook for Christmas, I have mostly been buying ebooks. I will still buy a print book every now and then but the DH doesn’t want too many of them around the house. Poor guy, He’ll just have to suck it up sometimes.
I don’t own an e-reader, but I am intrigued by them. I love the entire process of reading a book, turning the page, the feel, the smell, etc. So, I would probably buy both of my favorite authors. Nalini Singh, Kresley Cole and you!
I only buy ebooks if I’m too broke to drive myself to the bookstore and buy the hardback/paperback (depending on the age of the book).
I used kindle for PC when I get ebooks and reading on the laptop hurts my eyes.
Plus, you can’t beat getting a good ol’ fashioned paperback and finding that o-so comfy, but painful looking corner of the couch to curl up in.
I buy strictly eBooks these days unless I get a chance to go to a book signing. If, I’ve already bought it as an eBook, I’ll end up with one of each. If I get the print copy first, I’ll just read it. I actually prefer eBooks now even while something in the back of my brain reminds me it’s just not the same as having the tactile experience of print.
You’ve changed my reading habits. I got a couple of your books when I was jonesing for some Julie or Mercy. Now, I’m hooked on a whole new genre that I never considered reading before! And loving it!
I buy ebooks for the most part, though every once in a while, ill buy a paperback. I like ebooks more, just because my ereader can hold more books. lol
I buy ebooks because I can get them quicker but often I prefer the books I really love in paperback so I can dog-ear pages or mark my favorite parts. So sometimes I will have two copies of my favorites – ebook AND paperback. Just can’t get enough LOL
