Let’s blow this blog up! I have a copy of Kresley Cole’s latest release, LOTHAIRE, signed by Kresley and Lothaire. He wrote “Forever, Lothaire.” In red. *faints*
Leave a comment below and you’ll be in the drawing. Winner announced right here on Sunday. Good luck!
Last week, my dear friend Kresley Cole set off on a book tour to celebrate the release of her first hardcover, the latest in the beloved Immortals After Dark series, Lothaire. And what a tour it was! With stops in Dallas, Austin, Houston, New Orleans, and Tampa, Kresley and Paul Marron — the cover model — and a fabulous advance team climbed aboard this bus…yeah, this cover-wrapped, rock-star-worthy, attention-seizing, marble-and-leather interiored bus that sleeps twelve…to make meet, greet, and sweep readers off their feet.
I caught up with the tour in Tampa on their last night, where Kresley & crew were giddy with success and adrenaline (and possibly the after-effects of New Orleans, but I’m not saying), yet one hundred percent on point when they walked into Books-A-Million where (yet another) crowd of well over 100 screaming, crazy, crying (yes, friends, some cry) fans waited in line for a chance to meet their writing idol, get an autograph and picture, and bask in her beauty. Then readers were guided to Lothaire himself, allowed to gaze into the dreamy crimson eyes of a violent (and smokin’ hot) vampire. Oh, and of course, get some pictures of with him. (Like Julie Leto trying not to look under the leather…where Paul was wearing…nothing.)
After all gazillion books were signed, the group gathered around their goddess and began a question and answer session that revealed one thing: these ladies knew their IAD characters and storylines. They weren’t just “invested” in the series, they were living and breathing the world.
At one point, I stood off to the side with the literary agent Kresley and I share, unable to wipe the smile off my face or blink away a tear of pride. While I watched her handle every question with humor, poise, honesty, humility, and grace, I couldn’t help thinking that Kresley has been my friend since day one in this industry; our debut novels came out the same month from the same publisher — we’ve been together in the trenches, in the weeds, and in the bar. Okay, mostly in the bar. And there are those (2) hour long phone calls that keep us both laughing through the craziness of this business.
How easy it would be to let that green monster into my heart; let’s not lie, we may have started together, but Kresley — a #1 New York Times Bestselling Author — has eclipsed me in the game of words. But that monster doesn’t dare make an appearance because Kresley Cole deserves every moment of this fame, fortune, and fangirl adoration. [Warning: gushing dead ahead.] Kresley’s earned her success with sweat equity, raw talent, and an imagination that can’t be stopped. I’ve never met a writer who works so hard, cares so much, or spends so much energy on the details that make a story perfect. She’s one of the great writing talents in the romance world, and one of the classiest, kindest, most generous people I’ve ever met. I’m so proud of her — can you tell???
We all had dinner together after the event (Paul had salad and water — the price for perfection, I suppose) and even then, more fans approached the table and Kresley graciously signed their books and let them take pictures. At the hotel, several miles away from the signing, two more excited readers snagged her in the lobby.
Kresley likes to say her personal motto is “Go big or go home.” She went big all right and now she’s home…writing the next masterpiece, lucky for all of her legions of fans!
Leave a comment to win a (double) signed copy of the hardcover LOTHAIRE. And, yes, I have my own, so I guarantee that this book is AWESOME!

by Roxanne St. Claire January 17th, 2012 at 7:32 amI was looking forward to Lothaire’s book since he was introduced in her first book. When I knew his book was next, I stalked Kresley’s site everyday. Lol. I wish she had a book tour closer to me.
I would have been there in a heartbeat!
Now I just have to stalk her page to find out when Nix’s book will be written. :/
by Crystal Cuffley January 17th, 2012 at 5:46 amSomething tells me Nix’s tour — whenever that happens and no, I’m not in the know — will be even bigger and better! xo
by Roxanne St. Claire January 17th, 2012 at 7:33 amYou lucky, lucky girl!!!
I so want to win this! I am a huge fan of Paul Marron, and I have to say that he looks even better in candid shots than he does in artwork covers! What a great promo–author with cover model extraordinare!
by Virginia C January 17th, 2012 at 5:49 amHe is stunning, I have to say. But disarmingly sweet, too. (Unlike Lothaire!) He stayed true to character, though, glowering at fans all Lothaire-ish, then breaking into a smile. Fun! xo
by Roxanne St. Claire January 17th, 2012 at 7:34 amI’m so jealous. I would love to be able to get to a signing.

I took it as a sign to quit trying to meet my favorite authors for a while! I love the Immortals! Kresley Cole is amazing! Well, and so are you, Roxanne, love the Bullet Catchers and Guardian Angelinos! Have my mom hooked on them now too!!

by Roxanne St. Claire January 17th, 2012 at 8:30 amlovely, rocki – i love how both of you shine in this post: kresley for her determination and and imagination, and you for your generous spirit and support. And what a BUS!

by Roxanne St. Claire January 17th, 2012 at 8:48 amHow totally exciting … are far different from her first bus tour, eh? When some certain writers wanted to go to a certain strip club ….

by Roxanne St. Claire January 17th, 2012 at 9:12 amI was so jealous of the reader that got to attend the signing tour, I live in Ohio and that would have been a long trek for me. Would absolutely love to win this and add it to my Library! Thank you for the chance!

Absolutely bummed I don’t like closer. Love Kresley and stumbled onto her series by accident and couldn’t put them down. I’ve passed and shared her wonderful words and I’m so excited about her newest edition. Can’t wait to read.
by Jennifer A January 17th, 2012 at 7:49 amIt’s really been a fun ride being such good friends with Kresley. We’ve had some amazing times together (like the night we both snagged Ritas…that was a GOLDEN evening!!) and this tour was one of them! xo
by Roxanne St. Claire January 17th, 2012 at 9:20 amLive in FL and can’t believe I’m on the east coast while you are in Tampa. Miss the signing- darn but thanks for the updates and chance to win a book. “L” looks yummy.

by Roxanne St. Claire January 17th, 2012 at 9:20 amKresley Cole is in my list of top favorite authors and I just finished reading Dreams of a Dark Warrior and I am so excited to read Lothaire! And as someone from the Northeast and Northern Midwest, I am always sad when I see that none of my favorite authors travel up by me for their book tours… (*hint hint, nudge nudge). Oh well, maybe one day I will road trip or be able to travel to a close tour location.
by Andrea Galloway January 17th, 2012 at 8:01 amI toured with Kresley in Michigan a few years ago (and about 25 other amazing authors – that was a great time!). I’m sure she’ll be back in your neck of the woods! xo

by Roxanne St. Claire January 17th, 2012 at 10:18 amThe problem is that authors don’t usually come to the Philly area.

by Roxanne St. Claire January 17th, 2012 at 10:19 amWas hoping Kresley would come close enough to me to go to a signing, but she didn’t come near Nashville. I’ve heard from so many people how fun the signings were and how great this book is. I have a copy of hold with the library now. Hoping to get this week…would be even better to win a signed copy.
by Liza January 17th, 2012 at 8:24 amMaybe both! Thanks, Liza! xo

by Roxanne St. Claire January 17th, 2012 at 11:24 amI love Kresley Cole’s books. There is such a richness to the writing, almost like a historical. Her characters are so real, I can believe the screaming fans. I don’t even envy the bus and the screaming fans because that would so not be me. I’m a homebody.
by Jill James January 17th, 2012 at 9:50 amJill, that’s so true about her writing – she started in historicals, of course, and that’s really the foundation of her lush voice.
Hey, Kresley’s a homebody, too. Some things’ll get you out of the house! xo
by Roxanne St. Claire January 17th, 2012 at 11:25 amOMG, thank you so much for this incredible write-up, Rocki! As if I needed another reason to love you with all my heart. But you are one to be mentioning class, kindness, hard work, and generosity! You exemplify all these traits, with the added measure of grace. And on the subject of success: you forget that I know of (and adore) your upcoming projects. Who’s about to go big, beautiful? You. Are. Amazing.
Thank you to everyone for your wonderful comments here! I can’t tell you how much I appreciate all the Lothaire love!

It’s all very, very cool! I wish I could’ve seen the bus in person. And I have to say, I just love thinking about that bus driving down the highways, reminding people that there are BOOKS out there that deserve the attention movies and TV shows get.

Roxanne, I just purchased my first one of your books, “Edge of Sight,” about a week ago, and can hardly wait to read it! I’ve been eyeing that series at the book store for several months, and finally bought the first one with my Christmas B&N card. (Thanks for the card, my darling hubby.) Anyway, looking forward to being introduced to your Guardian Angelinos!

by toni mcgee causey January 17th, 2012 at 1:51 pmI can’t believe you didn’t see her in NOLA, Toni! I heard the crowd was *wild* and the bus was parked on Canal Street for HOURS! xo
by Roxanne St. Claire January 17th, 2012 at 5:06 pmThat is so cool! I think it is brilliant that they got the cover model to do the tour. He has been on so many book covers it is ridiculous. Thanks so much for the awesome giveaway!

by Sinead Onekawa January 17th, 2012 at 5:45 pmLove the devil in disguise — Paul was far too sweet to be a devil. xo
by Roxanne St. Claire January 17th, 2012 at 6:57 pmWow, what a wonderful time you had Roxie. I can’t wait to read this book, Kresley will be a new author to me.
by Elisa V January 17th, 2012 at 6:01 pmYou’re going to love her, Elisa! xo
by Roxanne St. Claire January 17th, 2012 at 6:57 pmSo jealous! If only I lived in the South, I would have definitely gone to one of the signings. Kresley is one of my top 3 fave authors, and I count the days to each new release. I’m glad you had such a great time at the signing too. You’re obviously super proud and happy for her success and are an amazing friend to her.
by Katie January 17th, 2012 at 6:42 pmShe’s one of my top 3 as well, Katie! And I *am* a proud friend, LOL! xo

by Brenda Hyde January 17th, 2012 at 8:45 pmYes, the bus was AWESOME. It had bunk beds!! (Though Kresley stayed in hotels.) But it was simply fabulous inside. xo

by Roxanne St. Claire January 19th, 2012 at 4:26 amI’ve been gobbling up all the articles on KC and Paul Marron’s tour, because I can’t be there, but I really really wanted to be! Thank you for this little view, Roxanne. While I’m a huge fan of Kresley’s, I especially liked the bits about Paul Marron. That man is seriously hawt! Do you think Paul only drank water because there was no blood offered at the restaurant??
I
by Andrea Jackson January 18th, 2012 at 4:49 amGood question, Andrea! I think he drank (sparkling) water and ate (a giant, delicious) salad because he’s smart, healthy, and takes care of the gift that God gave him: a gorgeous body.
by Roxanne St. Claire January 19th, 2012 at 4:27 amBoy do I feel like I missed out on a whole lotta fun! Wishing I lived in Texas or Florida for sure.
I’m an avid reader, read darn near every day. But there are SOOO many books to chose from that I’m cut out paranormal altogether. You have me rethinking that decision now! I got the Guardian Angelinos series (starting Edge of Sight today!!!) for Christmas so Kresley will have to wait until I’m done but I’m going to give her a shot. Maybe she will make a convert out of me!
Not sure I would have survived seeing Paul in person, but I could have toughed it out, you know suffered through it! Yes, that’s the story I’m going with (swoon).
by Heather E January 18th, 2012 at 11:31 amOh, Heather, thank you! Hope you love EDGE and all the Angelinos. I’m the first to admit I take paranormal in very low doses…but Kresley’s are “different” – there’s something so evocative and lush about her writing, plus her characters are laugh out loud funny without ever being silly. Give it a shot — after you read EDGE, of course! LOL! Kidding. Kind of. xo
by Roxanne St. Claire January 19th, 2012 at 4:29 amLOVE Kresley Cole’s IAD series. Own them all!! Looking forward to reading Lothaire!!
by Christina Gross January 18th, 2012 at 12:01 pmYou’ll love it, Christina! Thanks for coming by! xo
by Roxanne St. Claire January 19th, 2012 at 4:30 amAbsolutely love Kresley Cole’s IAD series and definitely enjoy looking at the eye candy by the name of Paul.
by Anya January 18th, 2012 at 4:44 pmTasty…and calorie free!
xo
by Roxanne St. Claire January 19th, 2012 at 4:30 amIf i were to win this, it would make my life complete
. I was very sad (and jealous) the tour didn’t come to the west coast. I love, love, LOVE the IAD series and Lothaire specially is among my faves
by Brenda Vivar January 18th, 2012 at 6:05 pmNah, it wouldn’t make your life complete and you know it! But it would give you hours of escape, pleasure, and pure entertainment! Good luck!! xo
by Roxanne St. Claire January 19th, 2012 at 4:31 amI wasn’t able to go hunt down Kresley and Paul, too far away! Maybe we should all set up a fundraiser so she can travel the world for us? I’m still waiting on my copy, can’t wait to read the book and drown in Lothaire-ness!!
by Angela MacNeill January 19th, 2012 at 8:18 amLOL Angela! Drown away! xo
by Roxanne St. Claire January 20th, 2012 at 11:19 amOhh, i can’t wait to read mine. The tension is mounting!! Gutted that I couldn’t see Kresley, would’ve been the best moment of my life
by Mary January 19th, 2012 at 1:50 pmi totally am DYING to read this book. I have been waiting forever for the library copy since i cant afford to buy and would just love a copy. I have been a fan of this series since the very beginning and hope it never stops.
Thanks for the chance to win.
Ps love your books too Roxanne… when will we get more? I want more bullet catchers personally but anything will keep me happy when you write it.
by michelle January 19th, 2012 at 8:27 pmThank you, Michelle! I’m working on a Bullet Catcher novella right now that will be released soon. As far as full length books in my romantic suspense series…they are on hold for about a year while I launch two new types of books: a contemporary series and a YA novel. Have to stretch my creative muscles! Good luck! xo
by Roxanne St. Claire January 20th, 2012 at 11:21 amOhMaiGAWWWWWWD, LOTHAIRE!!!!
Oh, well. He still is desperately wondering who “She” is from Dreams of a Dark Warrior. Mike says his favorite quote in all the series is “And speaking of females, if I call you by one’s name while my fangs are plunged deep in your neck, just run with it.” So if we win, it’s for two people, not just one! *is hoping we can share*
by Jamie Fulton January 19th, 2012 at 11:55 pmWow, I’m sorry. Try to keep the rabid fangirl in, but somedays she just can’t help herself. Anywhoooo… *burns with jealousy* You got to play with Paul? At night? I can see that he’s toootally not taking himself seriously, haha. Y’know, it was actually my boyfriend who literally SAILED across the living room to show me the possible giveaway. He’s actually a huuuuge fan of IAD, to my surprise. Ha. But then, with equally stunning and powerful females, what man can resist? He says his favorite was Danii from Deep Kiss of Winter. I told me probably because he represented the Vampire rake so well and he has taken offense.
Ha! This is the kind of fangirl love Kresley generates! It’s amazing. Fangirl and Fanguy, evidently! Paul was just amazing – sweet, funny, soft-spoken and very…hot. He’s obviously quite healthy and balanced, and had a blast in the role of Lothaire. I adored him and would KILL to get him on the cover of one of my books! xo
by Roxanne St. Claire January 20th, 2012 at 11:23 amThe way you say that makes my mind crawl into the gutter… and stay there. Haha. My two favorite authors are best friends. Honestly, it’s the coolest.
by Jamie Fulton January 20th, 2012 at 9:30 pmWow so jealous and what a sexy man!!!! Would sooo love to get my hands on this book!! Want it, need it, have to have it
by Jolene A January 20th, 2012 at 9:50 amThanks for the earworm, Jolene! I want it! I need it! I got to got to go to have it! (What song is that?) Good luck and thanks for stopping by! xo
by Roxanne St. Claire January 20th, 2012 at 11:23 amI’d so pet that bus. And, uh… other things. What I’ve seen of the tour — from pics — pulls out all the admiration cards to date.
by INCiDeNT (Kayleigh) January 21st, 2012 at 1:34 pm
