It is Tuesday, August 25, 2009…and I have been waiting for this day for one year, since my last book was released. Hallefreakinglujah, it’s release day! In honor of this long-awaited and thrilling occasion, I’m going to bow out of my usual blogging duties and skip my diatribe of writerly insights in order to run a sixty-second commercial for my new book, Hunt Her Down, in stores…today!

Feel free to mute or fast forward, I promise you I won’t be offended. Or you may just skip to the bottom, leave a comment and win a copy of Hunt Her Down, in case you don’t have time to run out to your local bookseller and grab it from the very shelves it hits…today! But if you want to find out what I’m so excited about, here we go.

Cue romantic suspense music…

Bullet Catcher Dan Gallagher is about to learn that some vendettas — and some women — are hard to forget.

Fourteen years ago, as an undercover FBI agent, Dan watched his lover, Maggie Varcek, flee as gunfire exploded around them. She believed him to be another man, a traitor, and dead. But Dan has learned that the drug lord Maggie unwittingly helped put in prison is free, and may be out for revenge. Determined to track her down and make sure she’s safe without revealing who he is, Dan gets a shocking surprise that turns his life…and his heart…upside down. FINAL HHD COVER

Maggie is indeed in danger, the target of an international hunt for a clue she doesn’t even realize she has. When Dan’s identity is stunningly blown and danger strikes terrifyingly close, Maggie has to forgive Dan’s crushing betrayal in order to save the one thing that matters most to her…their son. Haunted by their past, tortured by their bone-deep attraction, and locked into a race against time and a cunning killer, Maggie and Dan take a thrill ride of heart-stopping suspense and heart-pounding sensuality.

The reviews have been fantastic! Smart Bitch Sarah Wendell calls “smart and steamy and suspenseful writing at it’s best” and swears it made a fan of romantic suspense out of her – woohoo to that!

Romantic Times Magazine gives Hunt Her Down a 4.5 Top Pick calling it “a fast paced treasure hunt and prime installment in a red-hot sizzling series.” Fallen Angels awards it Five Angels, pronouncing it a “hot and sexy well-crafted thriller guaranteed to keep you up late.”

This latest installment in the Bullet Catchers series has secrets, lies, passion, danger, drama and one incendiary scene in a shed you will not easily forget! It’s in stores…today !!! Have I mentioned that? So, go ahead, you know you want to…go right now and Hunt Her Down.

We now return to your regularly scheduled programming.

(To thank you for that indulgence, drop a comment and celebrate with me! I’m dying to give a book away…today!)

Happy release day, Rocki!!! I can’t wait to grab a copy of my own soon!

    Hugs!

  2. 2

Yay! I can’t wait to read this – even though I still need to work through your backlist. I started with First You Run, and I was hooked. Congratulations on the release!

    • 2.1

Get crackin, BE! Seriously, so glad you got hooked on the series. It’s been a blast to write (mostly…there have been some hair tearing days, of course). HUNT HER DOWN is one of my personal faves because Dan’s been alive in my head since the first book. Hope you love him!

  3. 3

Congratulations on the release (finally) of Hunt Her Down!!

I’m lucky enough to have read this one, so let me just say Rocki’s not at all biased in her recommendation that you go out and buy it–it’s a great story and very hot…and very sweet, and very tense. I hated every time I had to put it down (like when the light turned green). Did I mention hot?

  4. 4

I can’t wait to read it! Don’t pick me to give a book away to, though–I already bought mine. Yay, Happy Release Day!!

    • 4.1

You’re so sweet, Liza Jane. And YOUR book is out very, very soon, too. (Watch for Louisa’s guest blog right here at msw on September 8!) I promise it’ll make you hungry!

  5. 5

Roxanne I read al of your books and I read this one I loved it like I will the next
    one

  6. 6

just love all of your books
of cours I love you too

  7. 7

Sounds like a good one and a good review from Smart Bitches-what else can you say. Congrats on the new release, always a fun day. Carol

  8. 8

Happy release day, Roxanne! This sounds like an amazing ride, my kind of book and what great reviews!
I love discovering new authors (I know you’re not new to you :-) So there are two books before this one to read, is that right?

    • 8.1

Hey Shannon – Actually, HUNT HER DOWN, like most of the series is written as a total stand alone – you can easily start with it, and if you like it, head back and pick up other books in the series. When I started writing a series, that was really important to me because, as a reader, I LOATHE the feeling that I’ve missed something along the way. I haven’t started a lot of series (JD Robb for instance) because of that.

However, for those OCD-ers in the group, here’s a list in order. The first three especially can be read out of order. The “trilogy” in the middle is better if you read it in order because there’s one murder mystery arc that runs through all three, but STILL, I guarantee a standalone romantic adventure that is completely satisfying even if read out of order.

      The Bullet Catchers are:

      KILL ME TWICE (Alex Romero)
THRILL ME TO DEATH (Max Roper)
      TAKE ME TONIGHT (Johnny Christiano)
      then the trilogy:
      FIRST YOU RUN (Adrien Fletcher)
      THEN YOU HIDE (Wade Cordell)
      NOW YOU DIE (Lucy Sharpe)
and the next two, out today and next month:
      HUNT HER DOWN (Dan Gallagher)
      MAKE HER PAY (Con Xenakis)

There are also two novellas in there: “Reason to Believe” in the antho called WHAT YOU CAN’T SEE (with Karin & Allison!!!) and “You Can Count On Me” in the antho I’LL BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS.

Hope that helps and doesn’t overwhelm!

  9. 9

Damn! I read this months ago and after that commercial I want to go read it again. I know lots of folks were upset after Dan and Lucy didn’t end up together and I was worried about poor Dan. But HUNT HER DOWN put my worries to rest and the upset folks should be satisfied he’s with the right woman.

Now, she says, rubbing her hands together, when is Con’s book coming out???

  10. 10

Yay! Happy release day! I can’t wait to read this one – everything I’ve heard about it has been awesome!

  11. 11

Happy Release Day to you! Happy Release Day to you! Happy Release Day dear Roxanne (and Dan and Maggie and the Bullet Catchers!)…Happy Release Day to you!

(And I did that without any alcohol! LOL) Good thing you only have to listen to my virtual voice because…uhm…I sound just like…uhm…Celine Dion. Yeah. That’s who. *blinkblink*

In all seriousness, may you have tremendous sales! These book rock, Rocki!

  12. 12

    Happy release day, Rocki!
I got my card in the mail the other day and put it down on my TBB list for B&N. Good luck!

  13. 13

I have to admit (and I’m sorry to say) I haven’t read your work yet. But, wow, I’m really looking forward to picking this one up, sounds right up my alley!

    Congratulations on the release!

  14. 14

Can’t wait to read the next Bullet Catcher adventure…have been on a cruise & just got back home yesterday…great thing to look forward to. Congrats!

  15. 15

Love the Bullet catchers! And would LOVE to win a copy!!! Actually, Roxanne, my favorite book of yours is The Sins of His Past, that was the first book of yours I read, and I have “hunted down” the rest of your books since then!
    Congrats on your new release!
    ~Erin

    • 15.1

Thanks Erin! SINS OF HIS PAST is very dear to my heart. I loved that book, and yet, it managed to get the single most BORING and PATHETIC cover in the history of publishing. Sand. That’s right. Sand…on a Silhouette Desire. A whole cover full of sand. My husband calls it SANDS OF HIS PAST. But, dang, I adored Deuce Monroe. Thanks! PS. Did you ever read the sequel – HIS STYLE OF SEDUCTION? I think that’s my favorite Desire I ever wrote. Jack Locke was just *funny* and bad.

      • 15.1.1

        Jackson Locke. ::sigh::

      • 15.1.2

No I must have missed that one! I am going to have to find it now! That was Kendra’s brother, right? I also loved Deuce! I love books with jocks!

        • 15.1.2.1

Yes, Kendra’s brother, Jackson. It was really the last of the “old” Desires, before the billionaires/babys/secret mistresses turned the line into the American version of Presents. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, it sells out the wazoo. It’s just that my very emotional stories with guys who are alpha but not overly arrogant didn’t really fit the line and I don’t think STYLE got much attention. But I loved it!

  16. 16

Congrats on your release and the terrific reviews! I can’t wait to read this one and I LOVE the secret identity and that they knew each other before…love those kind of stories!

  17. 17

    happy Release Day to Rocki!

I can’t wait to get this one…or the next one. A walk to B&N might need to be put into the lunch break plans, although it might be a smarter move to wait for Friday :( so that I do actual work this afternoon, rather then reading a book.
I am so excited to read Dan’s story – I have been wanting to read it since I read the first Bullet Catcher book!

  18. 18

    I can’t wait for this book1!!!!!

    hugs,
    WendyK

  19. 19

Happy release day, Roxanne! I can’t wait to get my hands on Dan . . . er . . . I mean the book. Hehehe. Silly me. Dan Gallagher has always been one of my favorites of the Bullet Catchers. One question. I read the novella, You Can Count On Me and fell in love with the pairing of Raquel and Grigori. Any chance they’ll get a full novel of their own? (Pretty please?)

    • 19.1

Thank you, Karen. Hmmm…Grigori & Raquel. They were a lot of fun, weren’t they? Nothing in the very near future, but I never say never. Especially to a man who plays kissing games with vodka in a limousine.

  20. 20

A fabulous book. Absolutely the best Roxanne St. Claire ever!

  21. 21

    Woo Hoo, Rocki!
    Happy release day.
I Love Love Love this book.
Everyone run don’t walk to get a copy of HUNT HER DOWN.
    Hugs,
    Lara

  22. 22

Wow, Rocki! I couldn’t put the remote down! You had me hooked from the beginning!! It’s become a must-buy and if you saw how many books are stacked around the house waiting to be read, you’d know what a compliment that is!! Good luck with it. It sounds terrific!

  23. 23

    HAPPY RELEASE DAY!

I love this series, can’t wait to read it.

  24. 24

Congratulations on the new book! It looks fantastic!

  25. 25

Gee, nobody’s taken a stab at what HGFR means.

  26. 26

HOT cover, congrats on the release! tWarner419@aol.com

  27. 27

I am so looking forward to this book!!!!
I have to go back and read the last one just to remind myself. ( I am one of the OCD people that if there is a series I have to start at book one)

  28. 28

Happy Release Day! I would love to read this!

  29. 29

So excited. Your Bullet Catcher books were recommended to me back in June and I’ve managed to read all of them, plus my favorite Killer Curves. And after 3 tries I’ve managed to locate a book store that has Hunt Her Down in stock — my local Borders had not unpacked it yet, told me to try back tomorrow — and am off to pick it up now that naptime is over. I can’t wait to read it. Congrats on the release.

    • 29.1

Not unpacked yet?!? Are there…OTHER books in that store today? Kidding. Actually today is a GREAT day to shop. Gena Showalter’s got two new ones out, Elissa Wilde has a new one out, plenty of fun books to get you through the dog days o’ summer.

Killer Curves is your favorite? Oh, bless you. I do love that book – I wrote it before I was published, and became an uber-NASCAR fan in the process. (Not too much anymore – they kind of lost me the last few years.) Of course, it was very early in my career and it sold, ahem, modestly. But Beau was one of my all time fave guys.

(Can you tell I love my heroes? Each and every one of them.)

      • 29.1.1

I don’t know what it is about Killer Curves, but I love it…it must be Beau. I got it last month and have read it twice already. Finally got a copy of Hunt Her Down and am off to read

  30. 30

    Roxanne,
