I had a plan to go to go out and blitz the bookstores to sign stock!
I made it to ONE bookstore, signed the stock, then got in my car and headed up the bridge that went over the freeway. I looked down at the freeway I’d need to get to the next store…and guess what I saw?
At least a dozen cops, all out of their cars, guns and rifles drawn and pointed at a slender man in a green shirt. The guy had his hands in the air and was walking backwards very slowly to the cops.
All this was like 10 or 20 feet away from me. So close, it’s like watching it on a big screen TV! That side of the freeway was completely shut down because I had stumbled onto the end of a freeway chase. That put an end to my plans to sign stock that day.
Okay so I have to have a new plan to promote BLOOD MAGIC…which plan do you like better?
Plan number 1: Paste my book cover on this hunk’s chest:

Or
Plan number 2: Pay this witch to cast a love spell on my book so readers can’t resisist:

So which plan to you think will work best? And WHY can’t I ever stay out of trouble???
P.S. I’ll be guest blogging at Romance Bandits tomorrow. Come by and say hello!

Jennifer I like plan A. But then I’m a sucker for washboard abs.
by Greta March 2nd, 2009 at 4:42 amGreta, me too! Maybe you and I should work together to get the cover on those abs
by Jen Lyon March 2nd, 2009 at 7:59 amOh, yeah! Plan A works for me. But…if you can ply that witch with enough appletinis to get her to spell the books, do it!
For anyone who hasn’t read Jen’s new book? WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!?! I couldn’t put it down!
And for the record? I would have stopped at watch the crime scene and taken notes for a book. Just sayin’…
by Silver James March 2nd, 2009 at 6:12 amSilver! Thank you again! You’re spreading the word about BLOOD MAIGC and I’m so grateful!
So I tried to ply the witch with appletinis to do as you said, but NOW she says she wants the the hunk sharing the page she’s on as ai price.
You know, I was so shocked to look over and see the end of the chase playing out that I didn’t actually cross my mind to stop…plus they had everything blocked off.
by Jen Lyon March 2nd, 2009 at 8:02 amWow! How exciting! I guess I’m going to have to go with Plan A too. But I would want to run along behind the hunk…just to make sure all went as planned : )
by Debra Webb March 2nd, 2009 at 7:40 amOh Deb, YES! That is excellent advice! I must do that
by Jen Lyon March 2nd, 2009 at 8:03 amPersonally, I like Plan A best. Who can resist a man like that. Have a great day.
by Roberta Harwell March 2nd, 2009 at 9:56 amHi Roberta, he’s a hard man to resist! For some reason, your comment got trapped in the spam file–probably that witch’s fault
by Jennifer Lyon March 2nd, 2009 at 4:27 pmWait… there was a plan B up there somewhere? huh. I don’t think I noticed. (‘scuse me while I clean the drool off my keyboard)… okay. I’m back. I vote for Deb’s plan of following behind. I am sure he will need water. Or time off from all that hard work.
by Toni McGee Causey March 2nd, 2009 at 10:27 amToni, perhaps you could off to mist him with water? LOL!
by Jen Lyon March 2nd, 2009 at 11:37 amI’ll go with plan B. That way after I paid the witch to promo for me i could pay her to whip me some of that plan A.
by Karin Tabke March 2nd, 2009 at 10:57 amKarin, way to think outside the box! Let’s put that witch to work!
by Jen Lyon March 2nd, 2009 at 11:38 amI meant to say, whip me *up* some of that Plan A.
by Karin Tabke March 2nd, 2009 at 1:00 pmKarin, lucky for you I am fluent in typo, LOL! I ‘m the queen of typos, missing words, extra words, random punctuation, etc.
Now let’s put that witch to work!
by Jen Lyon March 2nd, 2009 at 1:18 pmROFLOL, all I could think of was I had to scroll up to make sure it was JENNIFER posting and not TONI . . . maybe you two were separated at birth? Why can’t I be in on a tail end of a police chase? I still don’t understand how that prevented you from signing stock . . . but then again, catching bad guys kind of invigorates me. Bad guys, as in criminals, not bad boys, as in Plan A Mr. Abs . . .
by Allison Brennan March 2nd, 2009 at 1:44 pm. . . Though Mr. Abs in kinda invigorating in a different way . . .
by Allison Brennan March 2nd, 2009 at 1:44 pmYeah, I noticed that about the Ab guy too!
by Jen Lyon March 2nd, 2009 at 1:57 pmAllison, really, this didn’t seem like me? LOLOL!! I have you all fooled! Too funny! My Lyon blog is full of hunks
I couldn’t go to the other strores that day because the freeway I needed was shut down. I only planned to hit a few stores. Right now I have to get some line edits done, then I’ll go bck out and hit the stores.
I’m still stunned…wish I could have parked my car and just watched!
by Jen Lyon March 2nd, 2009 at 1:57 pmActually, I was referring to driving 20 feet away from a police chase . . . the hunks? Yep, that’s you
The cops and robbers? I thought Toni . . .
by Allison Brennan March 2nd, 2009 at 5:05 pmAh! Now I see, Allison!
by Jen Lyon March 3rd, 2009 at 1:30 pmI think Greta said it quite succinctly.
by Cele March 2nd, 2009 at 10:06 pmCele, yes she did!
