Happy New Year!

What was your most unexpected gift?
An afghan from my mother
Did you get your heart’s desire?
I received everything I asked for, btw Duffy's Rockferry well, rocks.
Did you get any books? Care to share?
I received no books, but I did receive an Amazon gift card, and it's from a writer, so really books are a must... Hallelujah!
Did you give any books this year?
No, but I did give Barnes and Noble gift cards, does that count?
Favorite part of your holiday meal?
family, and I don't mind the clean up as long as I get candied sweet potatoes
Have you made your New Year’s resolutions yet?
I'm reinstating last year's...maybe I can make it this time.
What are most looking forward to in 2009?
Really, is world peace too much to ask for?
Did you catch a cold, too?
No, I swear by Airborne, never wash my coffee or tea cups, and I refuse to use disinfectant cleaning products... just saying.

What was your most unexpected gift?
A gift certificate for Williams-Sonoma (I didn't know my daughter had it in her!)

Did you get your heart's desire?
Ditto to Karin's--I survived my revision deadline!

Did you get any books?
Nope but I got a gift certificate for a Honey-Baked ham!

Did you give any books this year?
Yes, I gave advance reader copies of Find Me to some of my good friends (they asked!).

Favorite part of the holiday meal?
Buying the dressing already made!

Have you made your New Year's resolutions yet?
LOSE WEIGHT!!!!!

What are you most looking forward to in 2009?
Finishing my house renovations and going to RT and RWA conferences!

Did you catch a cold, too?
Thankfully no.

What was your most unexpected gift?
A Gorham crystal vase from my 2008 SFARWA board.

Did you get your heart’s desire?
Yes, I survived my deadlines.

Did you get any books?
Nope.

Did you give any books this year?
Yes, I gave my oldest son Marley and Me and a few other titles that escape me at the moment.

Favorite part of your holiday meal?
Not having to clean the kitchen.

Have you made your New Year’s resolutions yet?
Some, not all, but my biggest resolution is no more procrastination...

What are most looking forward to in 2009?
Not exactly sure, but I have a lot of excitement and anticipation.

Did you catch a cold, too?
Nope, germs are afraid of me.

What was your most unexpected gift?
My mom got me a really awesome ceramic Marilyn Monroe coffee mug that reads Well Behaved Women Rarely Make History

Did you get your heart’s desire?
Not this year, my father in law just passed away a week or so before Christmas so this year was a tough one.

Did you get any books? Care to share?
I did get books. I got Have Yourself a Naughty Little Santa by Karen Tabke, Lucky Charm by Carly Phillips and a replacement copy of Lover Eternal by JR Ward (never loan out your favorite books)

Did you give any books this year?
Yes, to my daughter, my son, my husband and my mom

Favorite part of your holiday meal?
Having all of my husband's siblings with us.

Have you made your New Year’s resolutions yet?
I don't make resolutions anymore

What are most looking forward to in 2009?
I'm not sure yet . . .

Did you catch a cold, too?
No, thank goodness, but I did suffer a sinus infection.

Good questions. Hope everyone has an excellent new year!

I'm really boring but here goes:

What was your most unexpected gift?
This year I pretty much got what I asked for. I was most surprised by a red robe from my son.

Did you get your heart’s desire?
Yep, all my kids were home for Christmas! My boys are young men now, and they are buildling their own lives. I know I won't always have them home on Christmas morning, so this year was even more special.

Did you get any books? Care to share?
No.

Did you give any books this year?
Yes! Two of my sons asked for books!

Favorite part of your holiday meal?
Being together for sure! And how much my husband helped me by doing dishes and other grunt work. And of course, all the chocolate!

Have you made your New Year’s resolutions yet?
I suppose, but I consider them more promises to myself :-)

What are most looking forward to in 2009?
Off the top of my head, I'd say BLOOD MAGIC and SOUL MAGIC coming out.

Did you catch a cold, too?
No! I haven't had a cold a long time!

Hope you feel better, Syl!

Unexpected gift: a porcelain Christmas angel from my daughter, which made me cry because she doesn't realize how she singlehandedly brought Christmas spirit to our home.

Get books? No, and I want them!

Give books? Tons

Fave part of meal: The whole Feast of the Seven Fishes on Christmas Eve, most especially the clams oreganato. Yum!

NY Ressies: Not yet, but I'm on deadline, so my first one will be to finish the dang book.

Anticipating in 2009: every single day.

Catch a cold: not yet, knock wood!

Great questions, SJ!!

What was your most unexpected gift?
--A letter from my oldest daughter.

Did you get your heart’s desire?
--No, because my husband doesn't listen to my oldest daughter who knows exactly what I wanted for three years in a row and has tried everything from subtle to blunt to tell him.

Did you get any books? Care to share?
--No, but I gave a lot of books away!

Did you give any books this year?
--Yes, many, many books. All kids, husband, mom and friends.

Favorite part of your holiday meal?
--Family all together.

Have you made your New Year’s resolutions yet?
--I don't do resolutions.

What are most looking forward to in 2009?
--Writing the supernatural series. One more book and then I get to start it!

Did you catch a cold, too?
--In November. Airborne airborne airborne.
