Yep, it’s going on 2:30 a.m. Pacific time and I just sent my editor the final (I hope) revised version of MASTER OF CRAVING, book three in my Blood Sword Legacy series. And man was this one torture!
I’m exhausted, and I have a full day ahead of me, a full day Saturday and a full day Sunday. I’m going to be going nonstop until Sunday night. Monday? I have to dive in and once again bring everything I let slide up to speed. So I’m kissing off my blog today. I’m too weary to think of something swell to chat about. I want to go to sleep and dream of Sugar Plum fairies.
Speaking of holidays, hubby did write a little something for me last week while I was pulling the last tufts of hair from my head.
It’s titled Let Me Write
Oh my editor is just frightful,
But this new book is just delightful,
And since it’s almost midnight,
Let me write! Let me write! Let me write!
I’m not showing signs of completion,
And my inspiration is nearing depletion,
I really gotta finish tonight,
Let me write! Let me write! Let me write!
When I finally put it to bed,
I’ll enjoy a martini filled glass,
But if I don’t get out the lead,
My agent will shoot me in the ass!
Now my muse is quickly returning,
And this historical has lots of yearning,
Strong maidens and some hot knights,
Let me write! Let me write! Let me write!
Cheers!

No guilt, Karin — pleasant dreams. And hubby’s poem is great. Mine’s only capable of the ‘girl from Nantucket’ stuff — but he’s a whiz at IT. My PC Power Supply shorted out Thanksgiving Day, and we’re finally back to normal. Couldn’t have managed without him, so I’ll do without the poetry (but I’m still jealous).

by HollyD December 12th, 2008 at 8:44 amI think we’ve all been burning the midnight oil these days . . . I know Rocki and Toni (and me!) were all on tight deadlines, too.
Love the diddy, Mr. Tabke.
by Allison Brennan December 12th, 2008 at 12:18 pmI just mailed back galleys for one book. Now I just have two sets of copy edits to finish and two more mss… by January. *gulp*

by Amanda December 12th, 2008 at 2:40 pmHey Karin, get some rest!
So happy you wrapped up Master of Craving too. I’m thinkin’ when you do finally make it to sleep, it’ll be a long one.
And Gary, great ode there!
by LaDonna December 12th, 2008 at 4:46 pmKarin, there is no better feeling than hitting send on that book. Congratulations – enjoy the moment. Get rest. Drink wine. Buy something pretty. You earned it.
LOVE Gary’s poetry!!

Another fun poem. I’d like to do something like that on Magical for Christmas.
