For even more prizes–some of my books, some of hers–meet the next newest blogger for MSW . . .

1) She is the mother of two and grandmother of one.

2) She has two published novels, a short story, a non-fiction antho, and a myriad of articles.

3) She has the same publisher as Natalie.

4) Because of Gustav, she has an incredible fondness for strangers bearing chainsaws.

5) She is very, very funny.

And, because I can’t help myself, I hope you remember that PLAYING DEAD is on sale this week . . . pick up a copy for yourself and a friend!

New York Times and USA Today bestselling and award winning author Allison Brennan has published fourteen romantic thrillers with Ballantine, plus a novella and four short stories. She lives near Sacramento, California with her husband and five children. Recently, RT Book Reviews said, “A master of suspense, Brennan does another outstanding job uniting horrifying action, procedural drama and the birth of a romance — a prime example of why she’s tops in the genre.” For fun Allison enjoys wine tasting, swimming, playing video games, and—of course–reading. Her most recent release is CARNAL SIN, the second book in the Seven Deadly Sins supernatural romantic suspense series. Her Lucy Kincaid series will launch in January, 2011 with LOVE ME TO DEATH.

    Roxanne St. Claire. =)

I haven’t had a clue about any of the authors this week. I just wanted to say I picked up Playing Dead on Wednesday, and even with moving, I’m halfway through. Another awesome book, Allison. Thanks for writing it. =oD

  3. 3

Okay, Allison, I’m gonna need a tad bit more to figure this one out. Do you know how many authors write for St. Martins?!? A freakin’ lot! And since this author has only 2 published books, unless we’ve read her we’re basically aiming at the dart board in the dark–and none of us needs a dart in the ass. . .
    How about her initials?
    Or genre?
or she has the same agent as you?
    Anything!
    Thanks,
    Margaret–yes, the whiny-butt one. :???:

Margaret, there is a HUGE clue in the five clues . . . I thought I had given it away. Do you know the path of Gustav? That’s another big clue . . .

Thanks B.E.!!! I’m so glad you’re enjoying it!!!

    Toni McGee Causey

Okay, we know she’s pubbed with St. Martin’s and probably lives in Louisiana. And she’s not a teenager since she has two children and a grandchild.

This alone isn’t giving me the answer. More clues, please.

  7. 7

Okay, I looked where Gustav went–shoot we even got part of him in Oklahoma–but if you stick with the landing then Louisiana is the home of this author. I checked every member listed on the NOLA website, and they either have too many books or too few listed.
I need to get some of my own writing done sometime today, so I don’t have any guesses for today.
    Bummer!

  8. 8

I was going to guess Toni McGee Causey too, but her website says nothing about a grandchild (and she doesn’t look old enough anyway). But… could be a step-grandbaby.

  9. 9

I’d go with Toni McGee Causey for these reasons:

    1. Trees and Gustav and LA
    2. The very very funny goes well with her book titles (very very very bad day)
    3. Readers find her first two books to be very very very funny.
    4. St. Martin’s Press is her publisher
    5. She was a newspaper reporter

I read her blogs on Sundays at Murderati

BTW – This contest is getting to me. I DREAMED about it last night!

  11. 11

I am going to say Toni McGee Causey

Congrats on another great book Allison (yes I sat down and read the entire thing at once  but I am kind of sleepy today :???: oh well it was worth it)

  12. 12

I’ll go with Toni McGee Causey, a very, very, very, funny lady.

Allison, leaving for BN right after this post to get Playing Dead.

  13. 13

    I’ll guess Toni McGee Causey.

  14. 14

    Toni McGee Causey

  15. 15

Not fair to play because I’m here so late. But I did buy Playing Dead, Allison. And I’ll be seeing you in the Emerald City, right?

  16. 16

I loved Toni McGee Causey’s very funny books so I am going with her as my choice.

  17. 17

Yes, Terry, I’ll be in Emerald City! I’m very excited. Except for writing the speech part . . . hope you like the book! Thank you so much!

  18. 18

Speech? I saw your notes at Kiss of Death. I know you don’t write speeches.

  19. 19

Toni McGee Causey twittered about the chainsaw, has two books, and two kids. I’m not finding stuff about being a grandmother, having a non-fiction anthology, or having articles, but she sure is funny, so I’ll go with her as well.
