I will announce the winner of last week’s contest this weekend. But for now, I wanted to share with you some pictures of New Orleans, since I promised it quite a bit ago, and did NOT follow through. Bad me.

So, here we go.

Cherry AdairHere, the lovely Cherry Adair teaches our class. No, that man in the front row is NOT sleeping. He was very attentive and alert the whole time. He just happened to be looking down when I snapped this shot. Cherry is so much fun to listen to, NO one would fall asleep. She’s an awesome presenter.

New Orleans at nightThis was just a cool shot of New Orleans at night, when it comes alive. At least I thought it was cool.

Shrill JillHere, we see the darker side to our ghost tour guide, Shrill Jill. See she is trying to poke agent Joe Veltre’s BRAINS out. Through his ears! There was a dark side to the ghost tour that Deb did NOT share with you. I caught it on camera.

And here, more of the dark side. Deb returns from throwing Shrill Jill’s body over the fence. She’d had enough of her pronouncements of AND THERE ARE GHOSTS THERE, with no inflection or drama.

MonicaHere, we have Monica pointing out the ghostly orbs she kept capturing in her pictures. (Monica works with Deb.) I took like 40 TRILLION pictures of the same thing she did, trying to catch the damn orbs in MY photo, and NARY a one. NOTHING.

Deb and MonicaHere, Deb the ghosthunter examines the ghostly orbs. You know, the ones that DIDN’T show up in my 40 TRILLION PICTURES.

Look, GHOSTS! No? Okay, fine. These people just wandered into our group and posed for the picture. Not buying that story either? Sheesh, you people are skeptical. (FYI, the lovely lady is author Sarah Langan, who writes very scary books. Her boyfriend is on her immediate left, agent Joe Veltre is on her right, and the guy on the far left is an axe murderer who just escaped from… er, I mean, he was our photographer and videographer for the event. Among other things…. I think he was mad I was taking the picture. He thought I was after his job.)

A ghost!Look, a GHOST! Oh wait. That’s not a ghost. That’s Tom Colgan, executive editor at Penguin Putnam. The flash just kind of whited him out. I thought maybe you’d fall for the ghost story, but I guess not. I am not a very good photographer.

Ghostly houseI think this is the house where Monica got all the pictures of the ghostly orbs and I got squat. Well, the picture is kinda cool. But no orbs.

MississippiAnd this is a picture of the Mississippi River, taken from the top of our hotel.

So there’s some New Orleans pictures, as promised. I might have mentioned my ghost hunting/tour/picture taking was a bust. But I had a great time. Can’t WAIT to go back.

I don’t ever get orbs, nor do I get dust motes. Bummer. The trip looked fun, and er ummm, educational.

My pictures must have bored everyone to tears..

  3. 3

    Except my faithful Cele…

LOL, Natalie, I don’t think you’re boring anyone! They are great pics. I’ve never been on a ghost hunt  , but it looks like fun.

  5. 5

Not boring! I love the one of NO at night and the one from your hotel room.

Jen, It fell sadly short as far as ghost hunts go, but I find the humor in most things, so I enjoyed myself.

Thanks, Erin! I love taking pictures, even if I am NOT the best photographer in the world.

  7. 7

I love the architecture in New Orleans.

You are never boring. We just need to find the right night, the right cemetary.

  9. 9

Hey, Nat, the pics look great. I’m glad to see NO making a comeback. How is the recovery going down there?

Cele, thanks for the props. You make me smile.

Jane, I agree. It’s so unique and distinct.

Karin, things are GREAT in the French Quarter, but everyone knows that is the tourist area. We didn’t see much else, so I don’t know, but it looked awesome from where we were.
