It was difficult to pick an average day because I don’t have average days—ever! So I figured I’d do a run down of yesterday….

4:30 a.m. Slapped the alarm clock off the night stand because it woke me from a delicious dream about some guy with brilliant blue eyes, dark hair, and …ah, hell, never mind—suffice it to say I woke the hell up!

4:35 a.m. New puppy heard her master wake, decided he had to pee…NOW! Stumbled outside, dog on leash, stepped in a &$*%^ mud puddle.

5:00 a.m. Finally get first cup of coffee. Down it, take care of bathroom duties, head to home office (a literally office adjacent to my bedroom.), where I answer emails that came in over night.

6:00 a.m. Finish a chapter in my fourth book, revise two chapters from my fifth and sixth.

7:30 a.m. Make sure all is packed and ready for trip to Seattle, throw on travel clothes, head to work office.

8:15. a.m. Sort through to do lists and paperwork stacks while in a conference call. Making little noise so they can’t hear the shuffling over the phone.

9:30 a.m. Handle two employee whiners, field calls from two major customers, shove work pile aside, pull out writing work.

10:15 a.m. Chapter work on fourth and sixth book. Quick research check on paramnesia and social anthropology—or every intention was for it to be short!

1 p.m. Still on internet having been lead down a path of no return. Too many interesting facts on weird mental and physical conditions that have story ideas multiplying like amoeba in my head.

3 p.m. Crap—twenty minutes late for vet visit. Run home, pick up pup, go to vet. Record on hand-held what I forgot to put on my to-do lists, debate a plot stickler out loud for book five.

4 p.m. Back at work office—with pup. Handle messages piled up on desk, then jump on chapter work for book four. Dog whines, breaking my concentration, try to ignore it. Dog pees on floor.

5 p.m. Pee cleaned up. Dog has already eaten two AHD post cards and a paperclip. Paperclip required call to vet. Dog big enough, clip small enough to hopefully pass without problems.

5:45 p.m.—gather chapter work, to-do lists, pup, get ready to head home. Stop in reception area for a cup of water before I leave. Recollect objects, discover eaten paperclip…along with dog poop near my secretary’s desk.

6:15 p.m. Inhale dinner (don’t even remember what I ate.), walked the pup. Back to home office—check and answer multiple emails from web guy preparing to take the literacy challenge site live in the morning. Dog starts to whine.

6:31 p.m. walking dog outside.

6:50 p.m. back in office, chapter work on books four and six.

9:00 p.m. start confusing characters in books because dog keeps whining and chewing on e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g.

9:02 p.m. Dog pees on floor. Lose my sh**. Dog goes in crate, paperwork in knapsack, me in the shower.

10:00 p.m. The planet finally stopped moving! Yay!
